01

Busy fights can make frame times jump

SMITE puts you close to the action. Gods, minions, spell effects, and other apps can all ask for PC power at once. One slow frame can make an ability or camera move feel late.

Spell effects push the GPU

Shadows, particles, and bright effects can make the graphics card draw more at once.

Units add CPU work

A full lane or team fight gives the processor more movement and game logic to handle.

Other apps take resources

Browsers, launchers, updates, and recorders can use CPU, memory, or GPU power while you play.

Heat can slow the PC

High temperatures can lower processor speed and cause uneven frame times during a long match.

SMITE settings, lag, and FPS FAQ

What are the best SMITE settings for FPS?

Start with full screen mode. Lower shadows and other heavy effects first. Keep textures clear if your graphics memory can handle them. Test one change at a time.

How do I fix SMITE lag or stuttering?

For PC-side stutter, close heavy apps, check heat, update graphics drivers, and lower video settings. If every action reaches the server late, check your network and SMITE server status.

Can I optimize SMITE on a low-end PC?

Yes, but hardware limits still matter. Use lower video settings, close heavy apps, and keep enough free storage. Hone can help with supported SMITE and Windows settings.

Does this SMITE FPS guide cover SMITE 2?

No. This page and benchmark focus on original SMITE. SMITE 2 runs on a newer engine and needs its own game settings. Hone may still help with shared Windows optimizations.

Is Hone safe to use with SMITE and Easy Anti-Cheat?

Hone works outside the game. It does not inject into SMITE, edit live memory, change network packets, add cheats, or bypass Easy Anti-Cheat. Hone is not made or approved by Hi-Rez Studios.

Is Hone free for SMITE?

Yes. The free plan lets you try several performance optimizations before you upgrade.
